HBC Haul + Nerdy Glasses

HBC Haul + Nerdy Glasses

Hi everyone!

Happy Sunday :)

I'm always excited for Sundays like this.
Time of my life to chill, relax and do this again--blogging.
For some reasons I enjoy sharing with you a part of my life, my passion to beauty. :)

With that being said, I wanted to share with you my latest haul from
HBC, "Home of Beauty Exclusives" here in Philippines.

I picked up quite a lot!
First, they are affordable.  Second, I wanted to try this and that then let you know what I think about 'em, share some tips to prolly bring the best out of the products and etc.

San San Age Defense Pressed Powder in 02 (PHP 125.00)
Randomly asked the sales personnel why is their 02 lighter than 01.
Yeah, 02 is their lightest shade.
She told me 01 is Natural--I figured out it's the usual color of Filipina.
Not fair nor dark-morena.

San San Age Defense Blush in no. 02 (PHP 101.00)
It looks a lil' mauve on pan but don't be deceived.
It is a beautiful shimmery blush that leans more on pink side.
Definitely adds a natural glow on my cheeks and livens up my pale face color.
LOVE THIS BLUSH!
I'll show you more photos soon.

Well, being a cheek-chic, I also checked out the San San Cheek blushes.
They are the blush that comes in rectangular, light blue packaging and comes with a brush.
Search on google and you'll see tons of photos of that blush.
While, I feel that this blush is an underdog.
It doesn't come with any brush but I just love how easy it is to carry around.
The finish is different, this feels more fine and the sheen to it is more gorge!

San San Lip Gloss in no. 02 (PHP 65.00)
(Whoa, I never knew I picked up the same shade numbers not until now. Haha!)
To me this looks more of a lip balm based on the packaging. But let's see I haven't tried it yet.

Then of course, nail polishes!
See my nail stuff HERE.

So I picked up the colors I'm currently into-Nudes and Spring colors.
But honestly I love wearing almost all nail polish color haha.
To me, it just depends on your outfit and style.

And oh, mind you gals, I'm so happy to find the two colors I really wanted to try--the light blue and light purple. With regards to the light pink, it seems to be lil' sheer than what I've expected.
But nonetheless, they have nice color pay-off and affordable in price.

The nude color I chose is called "TOUCH OF TAN" and the light blue which I super love for this summer is named "WARM BLUE". Both priced PHP 37.00 each.

Allue is a brand which HBC also carries.
Their line has a lot of cute designs intended for young age.
And since I still have that cutie-patootie look... (just kidding :p )
I picked up this two lacquers mainly because I liked the color.

The light pink is named as "PORTIA PASTEL" and it does come with little pink glitters.
And the purple is named "PUMPIN PURPLE".  Both priced PHP 25.00 each

Then a few more grabs from the department store.
RED nerdy glasses without grades for fashion sake I suppose haha.
You must know I luuurv RED and PURPLE muchie :)

So yeah I guess that's much of a sharing for this latest haul.
Feel free to lemme know if you have an HBC favorite product and I might as well try 'em out myself.
I like how affordable they are.
And oh, I've seen their skin care line.
Any recommendations ladies?
It's your time to share! :)

Bourjois flower perfection primer

Bourjois flower perfection primer

The first step for a smooth and beautified complexion! This translucent primer evens out and refines the skin’s texture, visibly hiding pores, blemishes and fine lines, leaving the skin looking flawless. Its melt-in airbrush texture leaves the complexion silky smooth.

I love the packaging, that is one of the things that drew me to it, I am a sucker for small or travel sized products...The primer itself has a very light pink colour, but it is colourless once applied to the skin. The texture is really strange, it feels silky but powdery, once applied the my face it seems to melt into place.

It does make my pores less noticeable and my skin look and feel a better texture. My oiliness is managed better than with other primers I have used and my makeup does last longer than without a primer.

It can be used alone or before applying foundation to make its application easier and prolong its hold, It is Non-pore blocking, with an oil-free formula, Enriched with wild azalea flower extract to protect cells’ youth. It is £9.99 for 7ml. Which seems quite expensive but I only use a little bit & after a month of using it I still have 3/4 left.
Do you use a Primer, if so What's your favourite one?

San San Waterproof Eyeliner in Black

San San Waterproof Eyeliner in Black

"I'm strong, I'm tough, I still wear my eyeliner." ~ Lisa Leslie

EYELINER --- defines, outlines and may reshape ones' eyes.
It can be used with different types, colors and strokes.
Generally enhances the windows of our soul...

Well, I typically wear eyeliner on a daily basis.
With that being said, I've tried handful of liners such as pencil, liquid, gel and pen eyeliners.
I just love how much of a difference it creates on my look.
Often times I create a wing on the end,
sometimes more upward and somewhat cat-eye looking
and sometimes just a little for definition.

Lately, I've been reaching more of my pen liners.
Why? Just basically because it's easier to use and control and pretty handy dandy
yet gives me that color pigmentation that I wanted.
One is from a local brand called SAN SAN WATERPROOF EYELINER PEN in black.

It comes in a pen form which is pretty convenient for the girls-on-the-go.
The tip is firm and pointed enough that can create fine to bold lines
depending on your grip and control.
It contains 2ml of product with a price of PHP 85.00.

Rave Fave: Foundation Primer

Rave Fave: Foundation Primer

Beauty junkies know the importance of a good foundation primer. It smooths out and evens your foundation application, and it can even improve the appearance of skin.

While I browsed the aisles of my local Sephora I stumbled upon the Laura Mercier section, and I'm so happy I did. I love using mineral foundation, as my fabulous followers already know. When I saw that this line includes a variety of primers, I was sure to grab the mineral one and give it a try. Now, I swear by the stuff. I use it under my makeup, daily.

For some facts about Laura Mercier Foundation Primer for mineral makeup:
  • Feels light and glides on smooth
  • Prepares for a flawless application
  • Can be applied over moisturizer or a clean face

How to Apply Face Toner Properly

How to Apply Face Toner Properly

To spritz or not to spritz, that is the question.

There are a number of ways to apply facial toner after cleansing; however, the best method to give your skin a super clean feeling is by using a cotton ball, pad or cloth to distribute product. I used to be a spritzer girl in the past, mind you, but I learned the following skincare secret and never looked back...

While misting the skin may be fun, cooling and convenient for a hydration spray [which is a completely different product all together] toning is an important step in your skincare regimen, and products designed for its job deserve a fair chance to work.

It's important to know that toners are designed to wipe away residue leftover after washing your face. Things like chemicals, salts and chlorines from tap water can still reside on your skin and dehydrate it. By only spritzing your toner, and not wiping it off, you will not remove all of the residue.

That's why it's crucial to apply toner with a cotton ball, pad, or cloth. Always use a product formulated for your skin type. Follow up with an eye cream, antioxidant serum, moisturizer with sun protection and a hydration spray whenever your skin could use some light refreshment throughout the day.

What toner do you use? How do you feel about swiping toner versus spritzing it?

My San San BB Cream Review

My San San BB Cream Review

"Get the coverage that you need without the heavy feeling!"

BB cream had been my best friend for several years already!
I've been an avid user even before BB creams became fad here in the Philippines.
I've tried different brands from asian, western
and now finally a local brand I am very much excited to share with you!

Here's a BB cream suited for our country's weather and Filipinas' skin.
It's called SAN SAN BB cream from HBC.

Product Claims and Description:
San San-Hortaleza, MD BB Cream
Net weight: 30ml / 1.01 fl.oz
Price: PHP 149.75
All-in-one BB Cream that perfects and protects the skin.
-Lighten dark spots
-Nourishes skin with Vitamins A, C and E
-Protects skin from sun damage SPF43
-with anti-oxidant

SWATCHES:
ONE PUMP OF SAN SAN BB CREAM
LIGHTLY BLENDED
EVENLY BLENDED ON SKIN
LEFT: WITH BB CREAM
RIGHT: BARE SKIN
My thoughts:

PROS:
-Hygienic and travel-friendly packaging
-Affordable and Locally available
-It has a good coverage that can cover some skin imperfections.
-It can also even out broken capillaries on my cheeks. Great coverage for a BB cream!
-Light weight and easy to blend out using finger palms or face brushes
-Not too matte and has that dewy finish which does not flatten the face
-Protects you from the sun with it's SPF 43
-Contains vitamins A, C and E which nourishes the skin
-I also noticed that the BB cream has a skin-adjusting tone feature by trying it out on myself and some of my friends which have different skin colors.
-Sits on skin very well and doesn't oil up for hours.
-Stays put for a decent number of hours. Setting this with powder will help.

CONS:
-None other than requesting a shade lighter than this which I know they're already trying to work out.
This will be my kikay problem when I get back to my natural fair skin color again.
Well, I just recently got my tan this summer oh yeah!
Btw, posted photos of my hand are taken days before I got darker.
So yeah you can see a little glimpse of unmatched color there.
